Sportklinik Hellersen is one of Germany's leading specialist clinics for orthopaedics, trauma surgery and sports medicine. We have sport in our genes - our beginnings
Thanks to the professional cooperation between the individual departments, you, dear patients, receive the best possible interdisciplinary care. And we have been doing this for more than 75 years. We have specialized from the very beginning. At that time, health insurance companies did not yet cover the costs of sports accidents. Our sponsor, Sporthilfe NRW e. V., was founded in 1946 to provide financial support for injured athletes. Athletes came to us exclusively for treatment - at that time still a small department in the district hospital. Due to the enormous increase in the number of athletes, a separate hospital was finally built in 1970 - today's Sportklinik Hellersen.

We have retained our connection to sport to this day. Whether as team doctors or in the care of soccer and Bundesliga referees - our doctors are at home on the playing field. Of course, we don't just treat professionals today. In the spirit of fair play, every patient - whether recreational or non-athlete - with an orthopaedic illness or injury is welcome at our clinic. The German Spine and Scoliosis Center at Sportklinik Hellersen is a prime example of first-class patient care. Here, a team of back specialists works closely together to develop individual treatment approaches - always with the aim of sustainably improving the mobility and quality of life of patients. Back pain is a common ailment today, often caused by weak back muscles, poor posture or age-related signs of wear and tear. At the German Spine and Scoliosis Center, we therefore exhaust all conservative treatment options before considering surgery. Our experts offer a comprehensive range of conservative and surgical therapies - from the treatment of herniated discs and spinal stenosis to highly specialized procedures for scoliosis and other complex spinal deformities.

Our doctors at the Centre for Artificial Joint Replacement are also at the top of the list of specialists due to their high level of specialization. With their many years of experience, they can accurately assess the point at which joint-preserving measures make sense and get you back in top shape with an artificial joint. This applies to knee and hip prostheses as well as shoulder, elbow, ankle, hand and finger joint prostheses.
