Dr. Ralf Wied receives award for outstanding outpatient care for the second time in a row
In 2024, FOCUS Gesundheit will once again provide an overview of medical specialties and recommend the best doctors working in outpatient care in the region. This once again includes a doctor from Sportklinik Hellersen and MVZ Hellersen. Dr. Ralf Wied, neurosurgeon at the Sportklinik Hellersen and the associated MVZ Hellersen, was awarded for the second year in a row for the Märkischer Kreis region in 2024.
The survey was carried out on behalf of the news magazine FOCUS by the Burda subsidiary FactField and the Hamburg Health Foundation among all outpatient doctors in Germany. The survey included 260,000 doctors, 62 medical fields of activity, more than 50,000 colleague recommendations and finally around 29,000 doctors recommended for various regions. The basis for the data collection is the structural directory of Stiftung Gesundheit.

This is both a positive seal of quality for the Sportklinik Hellersen and for our MVZ at the Sportklinik Hellersen. As a neurosurgeon, Dr. Ralf Wied works in the spinal surgery department of our German Spine and Scoliosis Centre at the Sportklinik Hellersen. Here, our doctors provide both conservative and surgical treatment. This is not only unique in the region, it also offers a great advantage for our patients. They can be sure that surgery will only be performed if all conservative, i.e. non-surgical, treatment options have been exhausted," says Dirk Burghaus, Chairman of the Management Board of the Sportklinik Hellersen.
The evaluation criteria of the study covered medical, patient and service-oriented aspects, including recommendations from over 50,000 colleagues, the professional experience of the doctors and patient satisfaction. All relevant information on the doctors was compiled, added together to form an overall score and then compared with the respective specialist groups and districts. Ten percent of the doctors with the highest overall score were then awarded the FOCUS seal.
