First nursing trainee at Sportklinik Hellersen successfully completes training

Sportklinik Hellersen is pleased to announce the successful completion of its first nursing trainee. Florian Heinemann has successfully completed his three-year training. After changing training providers on March 15, 2023, he continued his training at Sportklinik Hellersen. "Switching to Sportklinik Hellersen was a decision based on conviction for me," says the former trainee at the specialist clinic, adding: "I enjoyed my acute assignment so much that I decided to continue my training here."

The training to become a nursing specialist lasts three years and begins with a theory block at the Liebeskind Care Academy, followed by the first practical assignment, the orientation assignment at Sportklinik Hellersen. During their training, the trainees spend time in various areas, including external facilities, such as geriatric care, home care, paediatrics and psychiatry. "The trainees always return to their training provider, the Sportklinik Hellersen, for the acute care assignment in the clinic, the intermediate examination and the final examination with in-depth assignment," explains Heike Augustin, practice supervisor at the Sportklinik Hellersen. "In order to stay in contact during the external assignments, we carry out regular practical visits," she adds. Theory blocks lasting several weeks at the Liebeskind Care Academy take place between the practical assignments.

In addition, trainees can complete a 5-week placement of their choice in rehabilitation facilities, palliative care, nursing advice or hospices.

Sportklinik Hellersen currently employs eleven trainees in the field of nursing. "Our aim is to take on the trainees after they have successfully completed their training. We train specialist staff specifically for our hospital in order to guarantee high quality care and meet the needs of our patients," explains CEO Dirk Burghaus. Leonie Schaulandt, Head of Human Resources at Sportklinik Hellersen, adds: "The next two trainees are expected to complete their training in August 2025. These trainees have been with us since December 1, 2022 and are currently going through the various stages of their comprehensive training."
